Ecolabel

Ecolabel

Ecolabel sets a high bar for the lubricants industry by requiring products to meet tough environmental standards without compromising performance. Until now, products could meet performance or environmental standards, but not both. Mineral oil products that meet performance requirements fail the environmental test. Formulations from vegetable oils and other natural esters that meet environmental specifications fall short on performance. Novvi formulations are the only lubricants that excel in both sustainability and performance.

About Ecolabel

The European Union established the Ecolabel program in 1992 to provide consumers with an easily identified label they can look for when making environmentally friendly purchasing decisions. Now recognized and used worldwide, Ecolabel certification assures consumers that products bearing the mark:

  • Reduce impact on the aquatic environment and the soil during use
  • Lower CO2 emissions
  • Contain a high percentage of renewable raw materials
  • Limit use of hazardous substances
  • Deliver high performance

NovaSpec Base Oils—the only hydrocarbon base oils that can qualify for the Ecolabel program—enable formulators to develop products that meet or exceed both the high-performance and environmental standards Ecolabel certification requires.

NovaSpec™ Base Oils

NovaSpec Base Oils are plant-based synthetic oils designed to deliver high performance, while offering major environmental benefits when compared with petroleum-sourced base oils. Ecofriendly advantages include nontoxicity, renewability, and improved biodegradability.

Novvi encourages and supports others’ efforts to formulate new product applications from its revolutionary NovaSpec Base Oils and also offers a wide range of preformulated oils and lubricants.
